The new 2023 Honda Civic is said to come with new updates. It is stated that the new sedan would be coming with compact style, featuring a sleek model with body styles variants.
The compact ride is planned to have a redesigned plan but without changing any fun thing about the line, including the practical ride, fun and easy to drive, and spacious interior cabin.
There are several changes and improvements that will be done to refresh the look, but nothing too much or too grandeur.
The Evolutionary Changes
The changes won’t be revolutionary – it is more about evolutionary updates. When compared to the previous model (with its over-styled appearance and exterior parts), the newer model would be somewhat tamer.
There is a similar construction of Honda Insight on the rear and also front fascias. But the new model of Civic will be coming with long hood, a somewhat more streamlines grilled, and taillights with conventional look – not the old style of C-shaped model.
On the inside, the cabin would be more modern. The infotainment cluster would be added, along with bigger touchscreen. It is likely that the traditional gear piece would be gone, replaced by a new shifter with push-button style and auto transmissions. Such item is already available in many newest Honda models.
Transmission and Power
With the long years of existence and good name, it is only logical if the new 2023 Honda Civic may come still with turbocharged four cylinder engine with 1.5 liter capacity – also available in all the lineups. This one is able to produce 174 hp of power and 162 Nm of torque.
However, there is no update whether the base four cylinder with 2.0 liter capacity will still remain in the design. Will there be a hybrid type for this line? It’s not likely – Honda has Insight for this matter.
For the transmission, Honda may still have the CVT option. But since the company has dropped manual transmission, let’s hope that Honda offers another alternative for auto enthusiasts with personal preference of managing their own gears.
Body Styles and Trims
For the 2023 model, the Coupe is completely gone. The Si may not be coming in 2023, but it will definitely come in 2023. Buyers seem to have their top choice with the Hatchback, especially for those looking for extra cargo and solid performance. The R Type is designed for driving enthusiasts.
For trim levels, there won’t be anything different from the current ones. The available options would be the Sport, EX, LX, EX-L, and also Touring (the Sport Touring) options.
Price and Release Date
Honda hasn’t launched the latest information about the prices, but don’t be surprised if there is a slight increase from the current tag. If this is the case, then the sedan will be more than $21,700 and the Si may be more than $26,200. The hatchback alone may be more than $23,000.
For the release date, it is possible that 2023 Honda Civic may debut in spring 2023 – or even later.
