Rumor has it that Ford Courier 2023 would be the next launching plan from this American auto manufacturer. This is one of their upcoming crucial plans, considering that they have discontinued the Taurus, Fusion, Focus, and Fiesta sedans. It seems that the company is switching to pickup trucks or crossover lines that are more favorable (and definitely more profitable) than the sedans.
Launching the Courier is a part of the company’s strategy to provide a more affordable option for customers. Before the idea was introduced, many had predicted that the Courier wouldn’t be in the form of sedan. It seems that they are correct because the new Courier would be in a pickup truck.
Ford Courier 2023 Future Release
For the new 2023 model, the pickup truck comes with unibody construction and more rugged appearance. The latter one is designed to satisfy American taste of masculine and tough-looking ride. According to the company’s vice president for Product Line Management, Jim Baumbick, Ford plans to release a new and more affordable ride without affecting the performance.
The new truck would be smaller – earning its title as a trucklet. The construction comes with front-wheel driving system from the compact car platform. The Courier is an uncertain name – it is possible that Ford may or may not be using it. Or they are probably thinking about using the Ranchero or other names related to Bronco family. Why would they bother having names related to the family – you may ask? Because Ford will be building their ride with Bronco Sport underpinning. And when offered to the market, the new Courier would be placed under Ranger within the (truck) lineup.
Design and Construction
And as for the trucklet, the new Courier may be small, but it is far from being cute or adorable. In case you are curious about the styling, take a look at Bronco Sport and Ranger. Expect the new trucklet to have blocky and upright front end – which is the signature style for the trucking profile. The other details are still shady, but it is highly likely that it would be produced in Mexico. If the rumor is true, the truck would be sharing the manufacturing plant with Bronco Sport.
Engine and Performance
If the new Courier will be sharing platforms with the new Bronco Sport, it is highly likely that the new trucklet would be using EcoBoost engines (two of them) consisting of a three cylinder turbocharged engine with 1.5 liter capacity and a turbo four engine with 2.0 liter capacity. This is basically the same engine arrangement as the crossover Escape, where each engine produces 180 hp of power as well as 250 hp. It is also possible that the truck would be coming with auto eight speed transmission and the front wheel driving system for the standard. Optional all wheel driving system will also be available.
Release Date and Price
Since the Courier is designed as the more affordable option, the starting price may be set below $30,000. Despite the minimum detail about the sales period of Ford Courier 2023, it is likely that it will start in 2023 for US auto market.
