Families with a lot of members can rely on the upcoming 2023 Toyota Sequoia. With the combination of Toyota’s reputation and big SUV structure, you can expect spacious arrangement for the whole family.
Since the line hasn’t been redesigned fully in long time, it’s exciting to expect some improvements on the design and also updates. There have been several opinions about the line, covering both the positive and negative parts.
Pros and Cons
On the positive notes, the car comes with spacious arrangement. The third row is even enough to accommodate adults – which is nice. The V8 engine is solid and tough. And there are tons of driver assistance technologies and systems for the standard functionalities.
On the negative notes, on the other hand, the interior cabin is impressive and not very appealing. The fuel economy is stated to be not impressive. And the overall performance of the ride is unrefined in overall construction.
But then again, the ride comes packing with driver assist features for the standard features. Sure, the Sequoia may seem obsolete when compared to other competitors, but you may also want to consider Toyota’s reputation for that matters.
New Lineups
For the 2023 model, Sequoia is adding new line, called the Nightshade. It comes with dark chrome for the door handles, grille, badging, and side trim – and it comes with 20 inches of wheels. It has black leather upholstery too. It would be available in Magnetic Gray, Midnight Black, and Wind Chill Pearl.
Pricing Factor
In terms of price, Sequoia has one of the highest tag prices. The top trim reaches $70,000 – which can give you GMC Yukon or Chevrolet Tahoe.
But Toyota claims that they include the best technologies and features, even on the most basic line. For instance, the SR5 model comes packing with driver assist features (which would cost a fortune on other brands). The line itself is enough to accommodate 7 people with the second row standard.
You don’t even have to choose the higher Premium trim because all of the great features are already available on basic. But if you want premium audio system, heated front side seats, and leather interior, then you need the Premium.
Powertrain and Performance
The 2023 Toyota Sequoia is only offered with V8 engine delivering 381 hp of power. It comes with auto six speed transmission and also rear wheel drive – or even four wheel drive.
The tested ride turns out promising on the smooth transmission shift and responsive gas pedal. The ride is constructed on pickup truck chassis, but it has modern design on the rear suspension.
Interior Cabin
Although Toyota claims that they have updated the interior cabin, it’s just too bad that the boring controls and cheap plastic-y elements are still within the cabin. But from the looks of it, the interior side lacks the modern appeal and aesthetic features.
Sure, the space is roomy with comfy legroom (not to mention that the third row is convenient enough for adults), but Toyota can do better with their interior aesthetic. But in the overall end, it’s good that 2023 Toyota Sequoia still gets the needed updates despite the interior look.
